We often see Japanese people drinking after work at an “Izakaya” (casual Japanese drinking bar) and eat yakitori. Usually you can choose the flavor, which is either salt or soy-based sauce. In this class, you will learn how to make it with the sauce.
This is a savory Japanese pancake. It is a very easy recipe, you can basically put anything in it that you like. We used to have okonomiyaki parties when we were children. In this course, you will learn how to make them taste delicious and up to restaurant standard.
3. Gyoza (Japanese dumpling)
You will learn how to make the gyoza skin from scratch, the technique of wrapping with gyoza skin and how to cook it crispy. Gyoza are Japanese dumpling stuffed with pork mince and cut vegetables.
You might have made roll sushi before but you will learn the basics properly including how to make sushi rice and some great tips to make it easy and beautiful.
Note : The fish we use on the day differs according to season and availability at the market.
You will learn how to prepare shrimp and vegetables for tempura, how to fry it and how to display it beautifully on a plate. And taste it with matcha salt. Tempura usually consists of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried.
Note: We will use tempura flour for tempura batter. It is commonly used in Japanese homes. Enjoy learning how Japanese people usually prepare these items.
